These made a huge difference in my racket's response. Contact with the ball feels crisp and firm, with a noticeable "pop" sound now. The frame vibration that was hurting my arm is almost completely gone. It isn't anything like regular string dampeners, which I don't like at all. String dampeners restrict the movement of the string bed, and - in my opinion - completely change (and ruin) the responsiveness of the racket. If you're using string dampeners, it's because you're using the wrong string setup (again, IMO) - the strings should be allowed to vibrate fully, to recoil and rebound freely. The job of the frame is to anchor the string bed and help absorb the vibrational energy to one degree or another. I already have a relatively flexible, control-oriented frame, and without these frame dampeners, especially on off-center hits, you can really feel a ton of vibration and instability in the frame - it likes to torque a lot when you mis-hit the ball. With these at 3 and 9 o'clock on the frame, it is completely transformed. Off-center contact is stable, vibration is tremendously reduced, and my shoulder feels fine after I play. The sweet spot feels larger, and when you make good contact, it sounds and feels awesome. I added about 7 grams of blu-tac into the handle at the same time I added these dampeners, so the overall effect is a combination of both changes, but I do highly recommend!
